Striped Bass 5/5 & 5/6 2018

Well with not much going on in the ocean yet we decided to make the run for our clients -like we always do- and put them on the fish this weekend. Saturday we did very well pounding a spot all day with a consistent bite ending up with a limit of unders and a couple blue fish. The fleet was slow that day.

Sunday we made the same run and got on em right away limiting out in an hour and playing catch n release until the guys had enough and we headed in early.

One comment i will make is that we have steadily caught fish closer and closer to the hook - i predict fish will be oceanside this week with the nice weather. We have room - give us a call!

Yellowfin Tuna Smack Down! 8/31/16

Tuna Smack down! All the yellowfin on the chunk you want and shots at Bigeyes. Doesn't get much better then this. Call now to hop in on this epic bite close to home!

We fished the Manasquan tuna tournament Tuesday- wednesday and had an absolutely epic trip boating our limit of yellowfin and releasing many more in addition to a #150 bigeye tuna. We also released a estimated #700 blue marlin and a white marlin on the troll. Absolutely awesome!

Call/Text Capt. At 609-354-2734 to book a trip now and get in on the bite.

Bigeye Tuna Hits the deck

This past week we had the Palumbo Charter on board and we took to going after bigeyes as the target even though they have been few and far between this year. On the full moon we headed to the Hudson Canyon and prepared to put in our time on the troll. Without a touch for 6 hours, at 10:50pm the long rigger went down with a blue/white joe schute. Quick work put a #150 bigeye tuna in the boat and the crew aboard the Jersey Nutz was extremely happy. In the morning we boated several mahi and headed for the barn with the happy crew. Thanks to the Palumbo group!

Jersey Nutz landing bass on Tony Maja #4

Today was a slow day for us as we could never get away from the crowd and find some fish to ourselves. We traveled north out of the inlet and found some life immediately. 2 minutes after the first spoon hit the water we were tight and eventually pulled the hook. Came back around and hooked up again to boat a 38” fish on a Tony Maja #4 spoon.  Came back around and……………………………….couldn’t buy another bite for the next four hours until we made a little wiggle and found them chewing north.  Boated another 39” fish before the fog hit and called it a day. Thanks to the Garafolo charter for coming out with us!

Striped Bass to 40+lbs!

Saturday 5-14-16

On Saturday we had a great group of guys in the Steve Hawthorne Charter that enjoyed a beautiful day on the water.  We had a long day with a slow bite but managed to put some fish in the boat on the troll riding the 3 mile line of the Jersey Shore.  Fish were very deep and not very active but when you could get a bite, every fish was 25lbs plus and made for some great pictures. All in all a slow but great day on the water with the Hawthorne charter.

Sunday 5-15-16

Sunday was a much different day for the Jersey Nutz Crew that proved to be extremely frustrating and long. We worked our tails off for the Mike Celentano charter covering a lot of ground and using every trick up our sleeve. We started the day fishing south where we had fish the day before, but the over night blow and chill down pushed the cows deeper and they did not want to chew. We worked that area for a few hours moving in and out, changing rigs, live lining, stopping and going but could not buy a bite! With two hours left in the trip we made the big move to new grounds but experienced the same frustration. It was time to go in but Capt. Cody asked for another hour from the charter and made one last move to some faithful territory, 15 minutes later we finally got our shot when the fish swallowed a magictail mojo and after a good fight we landed a 47 inch, 45lb slob that put a smile on everyone’s face.  HUGE thanks to the Celentano charter for sticking with us and allowing us the extra time.
